How do I contact a "live" person for registration help and information?
Please contact the GDC Europe Registration Department at +1 (415) 947-6856 or +1 (866) 321-1807. The Registration Department is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 to 16:00 PST USA, excluding holidays.
What is the cost of admission?
There are a number of different passes available, depending on what parts of the conference you want to see. For details about these passes and prices, please click here.
What is the Valued Added Tax (VAT)?
VAT is a consumption tax levied on goods and services in many countries around the world. The national tax systems of Europe, Canada, Japan and Australia allow for a refund of VAT to most non-resident business entities, worldwide. In some instances, registration for VAT is required by the local country law in order to get a refund. Registration must be done prior to the business event.

Included in your registration fees is a 19% Value Added Tax (VAT). EU and non-EU companies may be eligible to apply for VAT reimbursement which was applied to your registration fee. Please consult with your country's tax advisor for assistance in claiming your refund.

When can I register to attend the Game Developers Conference™ Europe?
Registration hours will be announced soon.
I've just registered online, when will I receive my receipt and confirmation?
If you registered and paid online, the final page of the registration process is your receipt and confirmation. Please make certain to make a copy of your receipt for expense purposes as well as any follow-up with the GDC Registration Department. If you printed an invoice and submitted it with your check payment, we will mail you a confirmation and receipt, once your registration is received and processed. Online registration without payment does NOT secure the Early registration discount.
Why do I have to create a unique log in and password for my registration?
For your privacy and protection we require anyone registering online to create a unique login for access to their registration. Having a login allows you online access to your receipt, pass selection and information about your registration. This is only available through online registration. Please contact the Registration Department if you have questions after online registration is closed.
How do I register a Group?
To take advantage of our group discount, your group must consist of 6 or more attendees from the same company and they must be registered at the same time. Additional registrations from the same company added at a later date will not be entitled to the group discount unless they are submitted under the same terms & conditions described here:

Terms and conditions: The group discount of 10% is only valid off the current registration price, including early discount registrations for the VIP Pass, All Access Pass, and Independent Games Summit Pass. No other passes are entitled to the 10% discount. Additional discounts, such as Alumni, Exhibitor or other special discounts are not combinable with the group discount.

When do I receive my badge?
Event badges are no longer mailed out. Please be sure to print out your confirmation and bring it with you to the conference along with a picture ID.

Travel and Hotels

Is there a discount available for lodging for GDC Europe?
Yes, travel details are provided on the travel section of the website.
Do I need a passport to travel to GDC Europe?
A valid passport is required for international travel to Europe. For US travelers, additional information can be found here.

Speaking at the GDC

I would like to speak at the conference. How do I submit a proposal?

Are there specific subjects that I should submit speaking proposals for?
Yes. The Call for Submissions form has an extensive list of topics that the GDC Europe would like to cover. Check out the submissions guidelines here.

Other Questions

Can I bring my child to GDC Europe?
There will not be any on-site child care services at the Congress-Centrum Ost Koelnmesse. And due to safety concerns, no one under the age of 18 (including infants in strollers) will be permitted on the show floor at any time during the conference.
Why can't I see the registration page on this site?
The registration portion of this site serves encrypted pages, and will not display on browsers with security settings set too low.

- In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced, scroll to the bottom of the list, and make sure SSL 2.0 or 3.0 is enabled.
- In Netscape/Mozilla, go to Communicator > Tools > Security Info > Navigator, and make sure SSL 2.0 or 3.0 is enabled.
