If you need to cancel your conference or expo registration you may do so for a full refund, less a EUR150.00 service charge, until Monday, July 22, 2013. Attendees who register prior to or after the deadline date, who do not cancel in writing by the deadline date are liable for the pass cost and will be charged for the full registration fee. Sorry, no refunds are available for no-shows. If you are unable to attend the event, we recommend that you send a substitution in your place. Changes to registrations must be presented in written form. Written requests for a downgraded pass must be received no later than Monday, July 22, 2013 for a full refund on the difference of registration fees between the value of the original and downgraded pass.
Sorry, requests received after Monday, July 22, 2013 cannot be accommodated. Upgrade pass requests must be submitted in writing and faxed to (415) 947-6011 along with payment information for the difference in value.
If you selected payment by check, please be aware that all check payments must be received by the Registration Department no later than Friday, August 9, 2013 in order to apply the payment to your registration.
If you are unable to meet these deadlines, please pay by credit card.
The UBM Tech Game Network, producers of the GDC Europe 2013, reserve the right to make changes in the programs and speakers, or to cancel sessions if enrollment criteria are not met, or when conditions beyond its control prevail. All sessions are filled on a first-come, first-seated basis. Arrive early to ensure a seat! Recording devices and cameras, still or video, are prohibited. Please review our filming guidelines here.
Badges will not be mailed in advance of the event. To check in for your badge, you will need to use the same email address used when you registered, this is noted on your registration receipt. Please bring a copy of your confirmation along with a government issued photo ID to collect your badge. Please care for your badge. A non refundable replacement fee will apply for all duplicate badge requests.
What is Value Added Tax (VAT)?
VAT is a consumption tax levied on goods and services in many countries around the world. The national tax systems of Europe, Canada, Japan and Australia allow for a refund of VAT to most non-resident business entities, worldwide. In some instances, registration for VAT is required by the local country law in order to get a refund. Registration must be done prior to the business event.
Who is entitled to a VAT refund?
Most business entities around the world will qualify for a refund. However, the VAT refund rules will vary from country to country. Please check with your local country's polices and company regarding VAT refund. You also refer to your GDC Europe Registration receipt as your proof of VAT payment when submitting your VAT refund claim with your local tax authorities.
Can a private person qualify for a VAT refund?
Non-EU resident tourists can, in most cases apply for a refund of the VAT paid on gifts and merchandise bought for export out of the country. The refund should be requested at the last port before departure from the EU. Tourists are not entitled to a refund of the VAT incurred on services, such as hotel and car rental. This refund opportunity is available to the company only.

Due to safety concerns, no one under the age of 18 (including infants in strollers) will be permitted on the show floor at any time during the Game Developers Conference™ Europe.
GDC Europe encourages future game developers across Europe to attend our conference. In order to qualify for the GDC Europe Student Discount, you may elect to apply the 15% student discount on an All Access or Main Conference pass online, but will have to present your student credentials onsite at registration. Your proof of student credentials must be current as of the date of the event.
Proof of academic credentials may include 1) Student ID Card 2) Written letter of proof of enrollment from your school or academic institution on your organizations letterhead.
Should you fail to present proper credentials onsite at the GDC Europe registration desk, you will not be given a pass to GDC Europe at the student discount rate.
*GDC Europe reserves the right to deny Student Discount pricing to anyone onsite as well as to close off registration for students in advance of the event.
